The flagship prestige label which has a silhouette of the winemaker on the label, is called Auteur. The word is in French in respect of Philippe Lichtenstein’s roots and it means ‘author’. The source of the name comes from the world of filmmaking. The Auteur theory is that the movie director is the author of a film in the same way a writer is the author of a book. The winemaker is also the author of his wine. This wine is his personal creation, taking the finest plot of grapes, from the best vineyards to create a wine that is treasured by connoisseurs and private collectors.
